The D.P. Comes Out Of Retirement
If you thought Michael Jordan's retirement from basketball was short-lived, or Brett Farve's first retirement from football was "lightning quick" . . . Nah! That's like breaking the sound barrier compared to how long I was out of circulation.
This Runner Prays
That's it . . . I'm finished. Done. Retired. I've resigned my official duties as the D.P.
What is a D.P.? It is a Designated Prayer. That's the pastor's job you know! When the pastor shows up at an event -- a dinner, a wedding, a ball game, a gala -- you can count on it, someone is going to ask him: "Will you lead us in prayer?"
What About Luck?
I have been hearing the word "lucky" a lot lately. It rolls off the tongue as easy as "peanuts, cracker jacks, ice cold beer" flows from the mouth of a ballgame vendor. Luck seems to come in all shapes and sizes.
