Someone unsubscribed to my blog. Ouch!
While I watch the number of subscribers to my blogs, I pay little attention when someone unsubscribes. There are two reasons for this: First, I encourage people to "unsubscribe" if the blog doesn't help them. Second, the number who subscribe far far exceeds those who drop it. I'm not going to invest my emotional energy playing the electronic equivalent of "she loves me, she loves me not!"

Bobby and Fred were driving the Alabama foothills on a sweltering August afternoon. They were hot and they were thirsty. Eying an old water pump outside an abandoned farmhouse, the two decided to pull over and "try their luck." Fred crossed his fingers as Bobby grabbed the rusty handle and started pumping.
Yesterday our church grappled with how we, as a Jesus people, engage homosexuals and homosexuality. We had no axe to grind. We were not trying to win an argument. We were not trying to make a political statement. We simply wanted to talk about how we lovingly and truthfully engage homosexuals and homosexuality as a church family. God gave us a very good day.
