Yesterday our church grappled with how we, as a Jesus people, engage homosexuals and homosexuality. We had no axe to grind. We were not trying to win an argument. We were not trying to make a political statement. We simply wanted to talk about how we lovingly and truthfully engage homosexuals and homosexuality as a church family. God gave us a very good day.
God’s Word is a treasure chest. Unlatch the cover, pry it open, and you will discover riches. The treasures of God are purer than gold and more brilliant than diamonds, but they are often disguised in phrases of simple beauty.
Monday was for mourning. Tuesday was for traveling. Wednesday was for catching up. The next few days are for hiking. The Kiedis/Ripple men have been planning our trek along the Appalachian Trail, aka BroMarch, for some time.
It was early Monday morning. I was tired. I dropped down to do what I did not want to do: push-ups. Anticipating the monotonous up-down, up-down, I searched my phone's playlist for music appropriate for a little push-up pick-me-up. Then I found THE SONG.

Cancer is a killer: brain cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, lymphoma, prostrate, pancreatic, lung cancer, and the kind of cancer that took my father—leukemia. Experts in oncology report that lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer-related deaths in America, but I don’t believe it. I still think the Cancer of Complaint is the biggest killer.
