Cancer is a killer: brain cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, lymphoma, prostrate, pancreatic, lung cancer, and the kind of cancer that took my father—leukemia. Experts in oncology report that lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer-related deaths in America, but I don’t believe it. I still think the Cancer of Complaint is the biggest killer.
NOTE: There are grand quotes and deep truths and weighty arguments ... and then there are neighborhood hassles. This post falls under the latter category.
Sunday morning I enjoyed a rare treat. With no message to preach and a just a short walk to the beach, I took the jaunt and settled into the sands to await the sunrise. Every morning canvas is an opportunity to reflect on Proverbs 4:18, but the verse always stands out when I watch the big ball climb over the horizon.
Campinas is a city of one million people in São Paulo state in Brazil. Shannan and I are here for the next few days participating in a church planting conference. There are more than 700 people present for the conference from over 40 denominations in Brazil.
Last night I looked over my sermon notes. Not the notes I will be sharing this Sunday but the notes I gleaned from the message that was given last Sunday! That's right, I wasn't preaching.
