This monster has often had the best of me! It's vigorous, ferocious, and relentless. When it attacks, it gets under my skin. I can't think straight. My vision becomes cloudy. I get moody, depressed, and discouraged.
"If you want to know what water is like, don't ask the fish."
You won't find that proverb in the Bible, but it is packed with wisdom. Immersed in the watery depth, the fish is unable to "stand outside" of its environment and evaluate it.
I am comfortable in most chairs . . . just not the dentist chair. Don't get me wrong, our dentist is exceptionally proficient. She is also a long-time family friend. I just get a little nervous when I have to sit in that chair.
Sometimes it's the little things that stop us. Monday, I walked out by our pool to find Mr. Clean "dead in the water."
