I tried to call the White House once.  I got a busy signal. Figures!  On another occasion, I attempted to reach Billy Graham. I did not get through.

Maybe it was four airports in one day. Maybe it was the fatigue. But maybe, just maybe God was opening my eyes to one of his very important truths. Maybe that is why I was thinking of Cadillacs at 29,000 feet.

Yesterday I took a hike through the Maroon Bells Scenic Area in Aspen, Colorado.

Bob was a guest soloist at the church. He could not believe what he just heard.  Bob was accustomed to an occasional "Amen" after a performance.  At times he received mild applause, or even a kind note, but a call for an encore! ?

I appreciate people who tackle the hard stuff. When I was in Bible College the noted theologian Charles C. Ryrie came to our campus. That was about thirty years ago, but I still remember him. He addressed a very controversial theological topic when he could have just hit a softball. I don't agree with his conclusion, but I still appreciate his boldness.

Sometimes Jesus gets my attention by the words he does not use. This is the case in Mathew 18:15, the classic Bible passage on confronting those who have wronged us.
